I don’t really get this. How can that thing be so fast? Aluminum body? Voodoo tricks? 11.7 s wouldn’t be completely terrible time even if you would have the whole engine instead of just half of it.

Presumably performance parts for the V8 like cams and head(s) bolt right up. That particular one might even be methanoled.

Most do fit. But using a V8 camshaft (or crank) doesn’t work as these use flat-plane crank instead of the normal cross-planes. I guess there wouldn’t be any technical obstacles to make an odd fire inline-4 though. Yamaha put one such in their recent R1 superbike.
But despite being very weird that thing is awesome. It seems to belong some Pontiac guru but I wasn’t able to find much details besides an older video.
